We collaborated with the PG ZOO to develop a performance for the NOISE TAIWAN SHOW with the intention of bringing attention to the plastic waste epidemic facing our planet. The garments, hair and the set for the show were all created using plastic waste collected locally in Taiwan, this amounted to over a thousand plastic bags and several hundred plastic bottles. It is up to each of us to create awareness about this grave situation and take responsibility! You can start today by not using not using plastic bags or plastic bottles and encouraging companies and your peers to use biodegradable or recycled alternatives. Every bit of plastic ever manufactured still exists somewhere on the planet! Our oceans and marine life are facing a very serious threat: the worlds rivers are currently emitting between 1.15 and 2.41 million metric tons of plastic waste into the oceans annually.Industry has made more than 9.1 billion tons of plastic, currently our worlds plastic waste could bury Manhattan 2 miles deep! We are becoming a plastic planet, we all must take action to create awareness on this epidemic and take responsibility for our dependance as a civilization on this substance. We are striving to create an awareness about your clothing and the materials that are used to make them, as much of the fashion industry contributes to plastic pollution. Together the choices we make can change the world!
